We went to the downtown playground yesterday. A group of girls, ages 4-8, were playing together. One of the girls said, “Hey, let’s go down the big slide!” Mogs ran gleefully after them, shouting, “Big!” as they all climbed the wooden steps together.
(Not the slide she played on, but I’m sure she would give it a try!)

On our walk home, we passed a lovely golden retriever puppy. Tony and I were theorizing why Mogs didn’t say the word “dog”, only “puppy”. Up until last week she didn’t even say “puppy”, she just panted and pointed when she wanted us to notice a dog. So the two of us were discussing how the word “dog” is sort of hard to say as the “g” is a hard consonant. The word “puppy” was clearly easier for her little mouth. As we were walking and talking about this, Mogs pipes up singing “Dog! Dog! Dog!”

Early this morning, I woke up to drink some water. Tony asked me to go check on Mogs because she hadn’t come in to nurse as she usually does once between 3-4:30 AM. We are only nursing just that one time a day. It usually gets her back to sleep for a few more hours.
I said, “Well isn’t that a good thing?”
“Yeah, I guess, ” he said and then rolled over to go back to sleep.
…of course at this point I got up to check on her. In the dark, I heard whispery little snores coming from our very big girl.
