After a winter of grey rain and a limited linen palette for my crafts, I am totally craving color.  We are having a sunny weekend, to which we are so thankful for.  We took Mogs to a neighborhood park and she went a little nuts.  She was throwing herself down the slide as fast as she [...]

This isn’t my favorite holiday, luckily we play it pretty low-key around here.  This year was the first in a long time where we exchanged gifts.  A conversation I had with a friend many years ago changed how I looked at this holiday.  She and her husband run a downtown restaurant that is always booked for [...]

I keep moving along with the Sew, Mama, Sew quilting month.  This is my design for the week 2 challenge.  It’s an Ohio Star Block.  I knew picking a striped fabric would get a little dicey.  I had it all planned out for each stripe to match, but then this is the result.  I like this quilt pattern.  [...]

I struggle with patterned fabric in my own [...]

Inspired by Uncommon Grace’s photo project and the wonderfully delightful writing on toddler rearing from Write, Mama, Write, I wanted to share a little about my Mogs.
She’ll be turning two this week!  I cannot believe how amazingly tender a soul she has.  Although our first year together was challenging (since I had PPD), I feel [...]

My friend Lia connected me to the website www.squareamerica.com.  This site has an extensive collection of snapshots from the past century.  Lia loves photo booth photos, so I picked this image to share.
I bet she grew up to be an interesting gal, with loads of style.  She reminds me of the daughter in the film [...]

Check out the apron entries for the Tie One On polka dot challenge.  This one by Ellie is my favorite of them all.  I love the hand-embroidery and the pockets….so great!
