I finally finished this 26″ square art quilt last night. I learned a lot in the process of making this quilt, especially in regards to hand-quilting and loosening up my embroidery. I wrote about the ideas behind this quilt here. I am finding it pretty challenging to get a good photo of the piece. The NW light isn’t too cooperative and my camera never is, plus there’s a lot of tiny stitches that don’t show up too well. Has anyone tried the new free Adobe Photoshop program? I tried it but haven’t noticed that it is any better than the photo editing program that comes with Flickr. Any advise?

love this - especially the detail photos - gorgeous stitching and combination of fabrics
just found you on flickr - glad I found your blog, you do lovely things…I was involved in that mobile swap I think you are referring to…it was brilliant…I love your mobile too, lucky mogs!
I think the photos look great! You’re brilliant.
I think your work here is very beautiful. Full of soul.
excellent! i love the free-ness of your design, and the way the stitching enhances it.
i love…love…love this quilt! you did an excellent job, i’ve dying to do some hand-quilting…got everything i need…except for time.
i too found you on flickr…and happy i did! and the mobile is awesome also…as seems to be the case with all that you make.
Lovely, I wish I could see it up close and in person.
Thanks everyone for your sweet comments!
Have you tried scanning small flat artwork directly with a scanner into the computer? My friend Shannon has been scanning the little vintage labels on her clothes, and they look good. But your quilts might be too big mostly. Still, you might try it for fun.
We’re doing 800 CD cases by hand, speaking of craft. And I am not much of a crafter. Oh well!
Jenny,
We just got a scanner, but need to set it up. The quilts won’t fit, but I think it will come in really handy for my drawings and smallest quilts.
800 CD cases, yikes! That’s a big project.
