My piece, Lost in Thought, was recently selected for an upcoming fiber show in Fort Collins, Colorado. This is the first juried show I entered. I haven’t shown my work too much, so I never know how it will be received–especially by people who have been working in the fiber arts for decades. (I think everything I make screams “Amateur!” …which is apropos since I am!) Yet, I am thrilled to have this piece included and will have to have my family in Colorado check out the show for me. I wrote about this piece last November in this post.

I’m amazed at your work. All the details and the texture. Wonderful piece!
Oh my, I haven’t seen this one before and it is simply amazing! The depth you have created with the light strokes (is it paint?), felted pieces, and the stitching—I’m so impressed. I would think it would receive great attention and admiration. Wonderful!
Thanks Smoothpebble and Berlin’s Whimsy! Yes, I did paint on the fabric before I added the stitching. I used acrylic paint for it.
How exciting! This piece is so interesting and very complex. I love the bird foot prints
Congratulations! Remember that the word “amateur” comes from the Latin word for “lover”….we are all “amateurs” when we are doing what we love, even when we’re really, really good at that work (as you are!)….
