I am in the midst of last minute prep for my show on Friday night. I’ve paced myself pretty well, but do have one last quilt to finish up. I have the binding to bind and a bit more embroidery. For some reason I am doing these in that order, as if having the binding done first will help me finish the remaining embroidery. I will post photos after I hang things on Friday and hope to get some photos of Arts Walk and the Procession of Species (our sweet parade in honor of Earth Day). In the meantime I will share this neat photo of my town from 1860 that was printed in the local paper today. We live on the far hill, on land cleared for fruit orchards–clear cut even back then.

Same view from today. Not as quaint, for sure, but still home.

Is that the new 4th Ave. bridge? It’s pretty.
I won a little (but heavy) baluster from the old bridge when it was torn down. I entered it, but then I moved to Omaha. When I won it my parents (when they lived in Bremerton still) drove down to get it. Since it’s so heavy I haven’t been able to get it. It now sits in their garden in the desert in Texas supporting one of those reflecting globey things.
