I am so touched that Average Jane Crafter included a bit on my Flood quilt in her special mother’s day post. I really appreciate that she shared her complicated feelings on motherhood and I’m excited to check out the book she recommends. There’s so much info out there on taking care of and nurturing your children, yet very little about nurturing your mama-self in a way that doesn’t involve bath salts and herbal tea. (Yeah, I like bath salts as much as the next girl; but my god, I’d have to use the equivalent of the Great Salt Lake to even come close to replenishing my soul in the way that making art does so handily.) Take a looksee at this great blog here.

Thank you so much for the link! I read so many blogs by mothers who seem so blissfully HAPPY all the time to be mothers. It’s just not my experience, as wonderful as it is. I’m hoping for the book as a Mother’s Day gift!
i know what you mean about creating art replenishing your soul–i love getting lost in designing a project…
