Tony has finished up his story written through a temporary public art grant through the City of Olympia. He hired me to create the illustration for the chapbook covers. I did the drawing, which was turned into a plate and letterpressed at The Sherwood Press. We will be hand-binding the stories over the next two weeks in anticipation of his reading at Yashiro Japanese Garden on 8/16 at 6 PM. Check out his website for Like Everyone Else.
Tony working on this particular story has been an interesting experience for our family. Balancing family time, his job and our shared passion for creating art has been very difficult to navigate. Since he was working on a tight deadline, we have had very little time to just hang out together lately. I am so pleased to see Tony integrating writing into his life again and hope that as Mogs gets a bit older, we will both find a smidgen more energy to integrate all these beautiful pieces in a smoother, more relaxed way.
The line-up for Here Today is really exciting. My friend Jen is creating a musical soundscape for the downtown bus station. Our local paper had an interview with her today.

What a terrific cover, it matches the story in a very tactile way. I love that you are both finding that thing inside of you again.
