I found it funny that I selected “Tears of Joy” as my topic for today for my illustration blog. All week Tony and I have been listening to the DNC convention on NPR. On more than one occasion we would look at one another with tears in our eyes because of something one of the many amazing speakers had said. I feel that everyone pretty much nailed their speeches and feel so hopeful about the election. As you know I’ve been an Obama supporter all along, but really think Hillary Clinton did a great job this week (aside from the super-goofy ”traveling pantsuit” comment) rallying her supporters for Obama (who has his own super-goofy “Eight is Enough” reference). Tony was so moved by her speech on Tuesday that he said he felt like donating to her overdrawn campaign. Although we are too broke to donate at the moment, his comment really says something about her integrity and grace she has mustered at the end of her bid.
We are following your election with great interest here on the other side of the world. I glad that Hilary measured up in the end, we have our fingers crossed for you and your country.
