I haven’t sewn with a pattern in years, so when I unearthed a vintage McCall’s pattern for a sling handbag I thought it would be a good excuse to get a little practice in pattern sewing. Luckily the previous owner had cut out and saved all the pieces.

Freezer paper is a fun tool to have in your sewing room. The following tutorial utilizes freezer paper in the applique process to help your designs lie flatter.
