♥ I just noticed that this is my 200th post!  Woo-hoo!  See #1 from 7 months ago: here.  ♥
One of my favorite short stories is The Renegade by Shirley Jackson–it is perfectly creepy.

Our cat Mary has been exhibiting similarly poor behavior reminding me of this story.  Mary was a pregnant stray that we took in [...]

My contribution to the Illustration Friday theme of: Wide.  Each week a theme is chosen for folks to contribute original paintings and illustrations.  I made a few versions of the same design, playing around with color and her profile.  When I was little I had a shirt with a rainbow that went across the chest and [...]

I read about Allison Manch in the Seattle Weekly a few weeks back.  Although I didn’t get a chance to see her show, I did check out her website.  I love the embroidered song lyrics, especially the “Buffalo Stance”!  (We taught Mogs how to do the Buffalo Stance pretty early on…I think it may be her [...]

Now, if you’ve been reading this here blog for awhile you may have noticed that I’m a NPR lover.  (Poor Mogs will have the voice of Daniel Shorr, Sylvia Poggioli and Carl Kassell permanently embedded in her brain.  )

Spoken by Gertrude Stein in response to Isadora Duncan’s death.  Her scarf entangling with a car wheel.

I made this Caterpillar Button Scarf yesterday…I guess it should have a warning label.

Another story I read about Isadora Duncan is the one where her two children died when the car they were in stalled on a hill.  When the chauffer got [...]

The above banner is a photo of a sweater that my grandma made.  In her day she could knit up a storm.  I don’t think I ever saw her in anything but a hand knit skirt and sweater.  Growing up in the seventies I was given a handknit sweater for just about every occasion.  Most were [...]
